... I'm learning so many new things at the Very Large Hospital where I work.  For the past six months, I've been doing a lot, a lot, of terribly boring, mundane, tedious financial tasks.  Billing for mouse intestines and mouse cryopreservation.  Tracking down outstanding invoices.  Creating rolling spreadsheets for budgets.

Meh.

I'm not that person.

But lately, lately, I've been working on getting the research volunteers set up with the 75 tasks they have to complete to become volunteers with the Very Large hospital.  This?  This is very much up my alley.

And today, a 20 year old came in with a form for us to sign and I just happened to notice she had a "u.washington.edu" email address.  I started laughing and said,

"I don't know if I can help you, dear.  We mostly idolize Cougars around my parts.  I don't know if I should be touching this form."

To which she immediately corrected, "I grew up in Eugene.  I am NOT a Husky."

I did not tell her Ducks are no better than Huskies.

I will tell you that I didn't care about this one smidge until Shoes came along.  Well.  A Cougar is better than a Mountaineer, which is what I was.

What the crack's a Mountaineer anyway?

LOL it's funny you should mention that...didn't they change it from a person to an animal when we graduated. Or maybe it was the other way around. I don't know. I am kinda glad we weren't an animal though...cause if we were it probably would have been something cheesy like a frog or a goat.

Love it. Seriously though what is a Mountaineer? It's ridiculous.

Oh Dear. This could seriously test our friendship. Having grown up on the more civilized side of the state my blood runs purple.

Of course when it comes to basketball all bets are off, it's Gonzaga all the way. :D And you know, Gonzaga is undefeated in football since 1947 I believe. (It's when they last had a football team.)

    Ha!!

@Elizabeth: I know. They changed a LOT when we were there - including the name of the University, and, we lived in a building that no longer exists, AND they started the cheerleading program during our years - remember that?

@Kylee: I know. :) This little rural school isn't a bad school, but sometimes grasps for legitimacy. At least you went to a school for a year that had sports legitimacy!! ;)

@Ronna: Someday, when there is a ring on my finger and the deal is fully sealed, I will let you and Shoes at each other. I might sell tickets to make some extra cash. ;) LOVE YOU!!!!!
