I could not even begin to tell you how bone tiring busy it's been.  Or how extremely fulfilling.

New apartment, big move, more hours at the Very Large Hospital, new job responsibilities, a trip to the zoo with Sarah and Malaika, a 4th of July in Eastern Washington with Shoes' family, a new hobby I'm addicted to,  a lovely summer evening bbq with my Goddaughter and family and registering for fall classes.

Well, here:

Malaika and Lisa go to the zoo, Sarah too!, and have lunch.

Sarah buys Malaika a pair of binoculars, and she looks at *everything* with them.
Sometimes through the wrong end.

A 4th of July hike up Kamiak Butte.

It seeps into everything.  Including the rural American 4th of July parade.

An updated, 4th of July picture of us.

My goddaughter, Rebekah, shows off the latest summer eyewear fashion, available here in Elmo, near Papa's raspberry bushes.

So obviously I can't take a picture of me registering for classes, although I'm sure that would be what people most want to see.  Shoes is teaching me how to golf, and I am absolutely addicted.

Yay for summer! I want you to take a picture of registration. Maybe a silly pose with the secretary who directs you to the right line, OR Better yet, the financial aid advisor! That is someone you want to remember!
Soooo I have decided that my present to you and mr. shoes will be some new shoelaces. I mean, he is making first impressions with his shoes, and laces are the "bling" that draws the attention.
BUT I will not hold these particular laces against him. hehe =)

Oh goodness, Sarah. He LOVES these shoes. Wears them all the time. I finally got my registration nightmare worked out and am safely into the Generalist (IE: Social Work 101) class I most wanted and my super hard to come by elective: Social Work with Frail, Older Adults. Phew. Looking forward to our date next week!!

Yes I am looking forward to our date too! I am pretty much okay with all the days. What would you like to do? Or where would you like to meet up? We can meet up at your place or mine or in between.

Ohhhh.. I forgot to tell you. Those Binoculars, they accompanied us to the local costco and Malaika proceeded to make a very nice lady VERY uncomfortable. She looked through them and exclaimed, "Mommy! Look at that lady she is BIG!"
I said (while coughing through a laugh) " The binoculars make everything really close up and big right?"
FYI- the lady was not at all big but I hope her self esteem was intact that day. She didn't laugh. hehe
