Roll the dough to 1/8" thick? Really?
Then how do I keep them from sticking to the counter (and sure, I floured the surface before I rolled them out)?
Cheryl and I tried to indulge in traditional cooking making this Christmas. It failed miserably. {Turns out I'm also an imbecile at decorating them.}
Shoes called during our cookie making mission and while we were dripping frosting onto the cookies, past the point of them looking at all presentable, past the point of caring, Shoes drops this:
"Sugar cookies? Really? Did you know I was a big fan?"
O, come on. Seriously? Sugar cookies in Christmas shapes? This fantastic man who asks for almost nothing and is mindful of every little detail of our relationship is asking for sugar cookies for Christmas? How can I say no?
How can I say yes? Those little trolls disguised as candy canes. It's just not right.
Would you like to see the platter that I did? It is on my blog. I am willing to send it to you or to Shoes house ....for hefty price :) Love you and Blessings on your cookie decorating.
You just need to inform him his favorite treat needs to change to something you enjoy making! I'm sure your relationship won't hinge on your cookie making skills... well I sure hope not. Love you Lisa!
P.S. You could always tell him you were helping him with his portion control: 2 wings = 1 serving ;-)
Buy some pretty ones at the store... bring them home and put them in a pretty pan and pop'em in the ovenfor a few min and then serve! MADE WITH LOVE!
OR you could do what I did this year and frost them and then try to add some sugar mixed with cinnamonon to the top and find out later that my husband had mixed the cinnamon with SALT! Shhhhh.. don't tell the neighbors... I told them malaika did it! haha
You make me giggle!
I'll give you the ones that dad makes, and then he won't know that you aren't good at makin cookies. But if you wanted to make your own, I bet my dad would be available for some demo's and cookie help. He's been makin them for awhile and each one has it's own personality.Merry Christmas...Cookie! :) Love you!
